Solar Electric System Installation Introductory Training
Fredrick Paris will lead the full day PV session, including a hands-on outdoor session using a Solar Pathfinder, and use real project data to demonstrate all aspects of a typical project from closing the sale to commissioning the installation. I would review costs, the rebate process along with financial issues and implications, energy output, contractor relations, and project details well beyond an academic perspective. Fredrick will provide a custom white paper in support of this session, along with handouts of his slides that attendees can take home.
Fredrick J. Paris
Fredrick is an independent consultant and solar PV practitioner from Plymouth, Massachusetts.
He consults with manufacturers, distributors and contractors as they develop their strategies and positions for renewable energy opportunities. This consultant practice might include writing business and/or marketing plans as well as training with a focus on business development for PV and small wind systems. In addition to consulting work, Fredrick sells, designs, and manages PV installations for both commercial and residential projects. Recent projects include Sacred Heart High School in Kingston, MA., completed 3/2009, and a 5,000-watt residential pole-mount project in Gloucester, MA., just completed 4/2009. He has several ongoing projects in the works as far west as Cincinnati, Ohio. Fredrick teaches a series of renewable energy courses - including PV - at Massasoit Community College at both their Brockton and Canton campuses. He teaches the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) course and administers the NABCEP exam at Massasoit this fall semester. Fredrick has just completed a series of speaking engagements for the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED). The theme of his talk was different for each region of the United States, but the main idea was workforce development and getting people into renewable energy jobs.
He holds BS and MBA degrees and has been self-employed since 1987. Fredrick has written articles and has had both domestic and international speaking engagements in a range of technical and business development forums.
