Basic Energy Auditing - Building Science Fundamentals

This workshop will provide an introduction to home energy auditing, with a focus on identifying cost-effective improvements to reduce a home’s carbon footprint. Topics will include insulation, air sealing, heating system efficiency, and diagnostic testing. The class will include materials on: building envelope, movement of heat, air, and moisture. assessing insulation and air tightness,  assessing mechanical equipment efficiency, overview of diagnostic testing - blower door, duct leakage, infrared. Appropriate audience: builders, renovation contractors, building officials, home inspectors, homeowners, etc.
